Your Very Own ‘Virtual’ Builder…

Traditional lime mortar work in Nottinghamshire

Are you having trouble with a building related problem?

I am available to advise you on many building related problems. Including, DIY issues or guiding you towards doing a great job or I can double check any areas that you are worried about with contractors.

Trying your hand at DIY?

Well done! You have decided to have a go and have purchased all your materials, but now the nagging doubts start creeping in and you are worried that you might get stuck? Well, worry no more because you can hire your very own personal building consultant right here!

The easiest way is usually to email some photos and a good description of what you are concerned about. Telephone calls are possible for those of you that are really worried!

I will then give you a quotation to provide a solution, (this is often just a nominal amount for a simple enquiry). If acceptable, a detailed description on what you need to do follows and I may even point you towards some other sources of information that you might like to read before getting back onto the job.

I can also be available for tips and advice on the best way to tackle building jobs, just contact me including a detailed description of what you want to achieve.

Not sure what your contractor is doing?

Having work done on your home can be a bitter sweet experience and a degree of upheaval is to be expected.

However, many home owners are worried about more than a little dust and noise. Getting quality workmanship from hired in contractors and local builders can be a problem, especially if new to an area and the tradesmen were hired ‘blind’ from an advert or phone book.

Getting personal recommendations is good advice but if you don’t know anyone in the area a great tip is to pay a visit to your local builders merchant. Choose a quiet time of day, i.e. NOT 8am or 4.30pm! and have a quiet word with one of the counter staff. Believe me, these guys know who the scallywags are and should be willing to give you a name or two of decent local tradesmen and women.

I am also available to advise on best practices for most building issues. If you have a concern that your contractor is not quite performing as he should, contact me with photos and a detailed description of your concerns and I may be able to advise you.

Stay well
